When i started attending the first back to the city  i was from Johannesburg computer club house in New town. This was back in 2007 and i didn’t even know what was happening but because i heard the sound and i could see people where having fun under the bridge i ended up there. From that time until today it has become a tradition than just been a culture that every year i should be there to celebrate what have made me be who i am today.

On Thursday 27 April 2017, Newtown will commemorate Freedom Day with thousands of youth celebrating the holiday through Hip Hop in the form of dance, DJing, graffiti, emceeing, beatboxing and skateboarding. This year  it marks  11 years of Back to the city.
